When applying for family leave following the death of a relative, a revision of the law will be promoted to prevent discrimination between "family home" and "family home".

In fact, companies have differentiated the number of vacation days for grandparents and grandparents, or there are places where grandparents do not allow family and family holidays at all.

For example, if your paternal grandfather dies, you will be paid five days of condolence leave and extra money, but there is a difference in the grandmother's award, such as only three days of condolence leave.

Park Joo-min of the Democratic Party of Korea, chairman of the National Assembly's Health and Welfare Committee, said on the 11th that he proposed a partial amendment to the Act on Equal Employment of Men and Women and Support for Work-Family Balance.

Rep. Park allowed workers to apply for family leave through the amendment, and prevented them from making the vacation period different depending on the gender of the person who died or whether he/she is related to the death of his/her relatives. In addition, business owners who violate this can be fined up to 10 million won.

A bill banning discrimination against family-in-law and family-in-law was proposed in the 21st, following the 20th National Assembly, but it has repeatedly failed to cross the threshold of the National Assembly.

Representative Park stressed, "As the guarantee of family life based on gender equality is the duty of the state set by the Constitution, we will not delay it any longer and make sure to improve the gender-discriminatory mutual aid welfare system of companies."
