Opinions are divided within the ruling party ahead of a general meeting of lawmakers to discuss the "promotion of a special inspector" that inspects relatives of the president.

As representative Han Dong-hoon sees the special inspector as a solution to quelling the controversy over Kim Gun-hee, the close circle is in a position to hold a general meeting of lawmakers at least this week.

As the results of the first trial of Lee Jae-myung of the Democratic Party of Korea will be released next month, the purpose is to resolve the controversy quickly in order to secure the leadership of the political situation before then.

On the other hand, floor leader Choo Kyung-ho, who serves as chairman of the general assembly of lawmakers, believes that it is not too late to hold a parliamentary audit after it is officially over.

Representative Lee is facing a first trial on charges of violating the Public Official Election Act on the 15th of next month and perjury on the 25th.
