The Democratic Party of Korea has released additional recordings related to Myung Tae-kyun, a key figure in the suspicion of Kim Gun-hee's intervention in the nomination.
The recording file, which the Democratic Party of Korea estimated was recorded around June 15, 2022, showed that Myung was showing off his friendship by explaining President Yoon and his wife to his acquaintances.
In the recording, Myung mentioned that President Yoon did not recognize himself because he was a "blind man" and that Kim recognized himself because he had an eye for people.
He also mentioned former lawmaker Kim Young-sun, Gyeongnam Governor Park Wan-soo, and Gangwon Governor Kim Jin-tae, claiming that he was involved in the nomination.
Kang Hye-kyung, who raised suspicions about nomination intervention earlier, testified at a parliamentary audit of the National Assembly, "Myung said President Yoon is blind, but he is blind because he wields a knife well," and a recording supported this.
In another recording released by the Democratic Party of Korea, Myung shouted at former lawmaker Kim Young-sun, asking why he didn't do what he was told.
In the recording, which is believed to be a conversation around June 2022, Myung told former lawmaker Kim, "Kim Gun-hee is in power," and "She can serve a sixth term only when she is close to Kim."
