South Korea-U.S. joint exercises expand to space...The first half of next year.

The Ministry of National Defense held the 23rd working-level meeting on defense and space policy in Washington, D.C., on the 7th local time and announced that it will establish a new space threat response exercise in the first half of next year.

The Ministry of National Defense said that the goal is to conduct it regularly once a year, and that the two sides also agreed to participate in the U.S. Space Force's "Civilian Joint Operation Cell."

The meeting was attended by TF President Park Hee-jung and Deputy Secretary of Space and Missile Defense David Boland as representatives of both countries.The U.S. Space Force '∀'s Joint Civilian Operations Cell' is a U.S. Space Force organization that conducts tasks such as monitoring enemy reconnaissance satellite activities, and 15 countries are currently participating, and the South Korean military will officially participate from January next year.

The Ministry of National Defense added that the council also agreed to accelerate efforts to establish a US early warning satellite information sharing system (SEWS) that will begin next year.
