Since President Yoon Suk Yeol's impeachment bill was passed by the National Assembly, Russian Ambassador to Korea Georgi Zinoviev has mentioned the impact of Korea-Russia relations, which our Ministry of Foreign Affairs has pointed out is inappropriate.
In this regard, a Foreign Ministry official stressed that if Russia wants to restore Korea-Russia relations, the first thing to do is to stop illegal military cooperation with Russia that threatens peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula.
Earlier, Ambassador Zinoviev said in a "media Q&A" released on social media shortly after the impeachment bill was passed yesterday (14th) that the South Korean government has not yet crossed the "red line" of supporting weapons of destruction for Ukraine.
He added that this left the possibility of restoring Korea-Russia relations, and that he hopes dramatic events in Korean politics will contribute.
