Rep. Lee Ki-heon of the Democratic Party of Korea, a member of the National Assembly's Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee, said KTV, run by the Korea Policy Broadcasting Service under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, has prepared for live broadcasting since October in preparation for North Korea's surprise provocation, arguing that the connection to emergency martial law should be investigated.
Rep. Lee said in a press release that Lee Eun-woo, the head of the Korea Policy Broadcasting Institute, made sure to supplement the guidelines for responding to North Korean provocations on October 10 and ordered to secure people to appear in the wartime situation, and KTV's broadcasting and press department reported the live broadcast plan.
He then raised suspicions that October 10 was a day before North Korea insisted on South Korea's infiltration of drones, and that he was informed of the possibility of a local war between the two Koreas or preparations for martial law in advance.
Rep. Lee said, "We are suspicious that KTV, which does not even host disaster broadcasts, has made live broadcasting guidelines with wartime conditions in mind," adding that the relevance should be investigated as it also broadcasted President Yoon's declaration of emergency martial law live on the 3rd.
