The Ministry of National Defense said it conducted a "triangular cooperation engineering drill" with the United Nations and ASEAN countries in Cambodia for five weeks from the 18th of last month to the 20th.

The training is a program in which South Korean troops and the U.N. support engineering education to ASEAN countries that support troops to the U.N. peacekeeping force, and this is the second time since November last year.

Fifty-eight soldiers from nine countries, including Cambodia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Indonesia, participated in the training, including the operation of engineering equipment, identification of dangerous explosives, and quarantine measures for dispatched troops.

Earlier, at the opening ceremony of the engineering training held on the 18th of last month, the military provided three 5-ton dump trucks, two surveying equipment, and two roof-type metal detectors to the Cambodia PKO (peacekeeping) center.
