The Democratic Party of Korea urged Education Minister Lee Ju-ho and Health and Welfare Minister Cho Kyu-hong to resign, saying they refused to attend a public debate between the government and the medical community.
Park Joo-min, chairman of the National Assembly's Health and Welfare Committee, and Kim Young-ho, chairman of the Education Committee, held a press conference and claimed that the two ministers, who did not show even the least willingness to resolve the conflict, were not eligible for public office.
He then pointed out that the worst-case scenario of 7,500 students taking classes a year is on the verge of becoming a reality due to the government's "struggling to win" even though the regular admissions for the 2025 school year are a week away.
