At the last hearing last year, the military prosecution demanded a three-year prison term for Colonel Park, who has pleaded not guilty by raising suspicions of external pressure.

The Marine Corps investigation team, which has been investigating the case of corporal while on the line of duty to support the public, has been in the process of transferring the results of the investigation to civilian police.

The key controversy is that he did not follow former Marine Corps commander Kim Kye-hwan's order to hold the transfer.When the prosecution of

Army launched an investigation, Colonel Park Jung-hoon, who was the head of the Marine Corps' investigation at the time, raised the so-called suspicion of external pressure from his superiors.

At that time, eight executives, including Lim Sung-geun, the 1st Marine Division commander, were charged with professional negligence, and the main content of the external pressure suspicion was that the transfer was put on hold to remove some suspects and charges.

Since then, Colonel Park has been indicted on charges of mutiny and defamation of his boss, and the first trial has been held 10 times until November last year.

Colonel Park pleaded not guilty throughout the trial, saying there was no clear order to hold the transfer, only illegal instructions.

However, the military prosecution demanded a three-year prison term, saying Colonel Park was having a major adverse effect on the military command system by making an argument that was not true.

Colonel Park's allegations of defection, an active military officer, have caused a huge stir in and out of the military for nearly a year and a half, and have been sentenced in the first trial in line with the impeachment of President Yoon.
