The provisional autumn radish cultivation area announced by the National Statistical Office is 1,000 hectares short of Yeouido than the results of the Korea Rural Economic Research Institute.
The National Statistical Office announced that the cultivation area of radish this fall was 4,174 hectares, but the estimated area of agricultural rice was 5,139 hectares, which was 965 hectares short.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs described this as a difference between the subject and method of the survey.
In the case of the Agricultural Observation Center of the Agricultural Research Institute, the area that has not sprouted is also included in the cultivation area, but the National Statistical Office says it excludes this area.
In particular, it added that this year, due to the heat wave, many farmers have been re-planted or re-sown until mid-September, so the cultivation area may vary depending on the time of the survey.
Meanwhile, this fall's cabbage cultivation area was similar to the survey by the National Statistical Office and the expected figure of the agricultural research institute.
