The win-win consultative body to reduce the burden of delivery app fees for self-employed people remains in pain even at the 10th meeting.

Public interest committee members pressed to finalize the discussion and present an arbitration plan if an agreement is not reached at the next 11th meeting to be held on the 7th.

Following the 10th Win-Win Council and Baedal Minjok, which were held beyond the target deadline, Coupang Eats also announced that it would pay a differential fee.

The plan is to apply a lower brokerage fee rate to stores with low sales.

Earlier, Coupang proposed a proposal that all store owners bear the delivery fee instead of lowering the brokerage fee to 5%, which sparked backlash from the store owner.

[Yoo Sung-hoon / Coupang Eats Service Director: We would like to submit an additional win-win plan as a way to lower the fee burden for small and medium-sized stores and protect the benefits of free delivery to consumers by introducing differential fees.]

Coupang Eats said they didn't have time to come up with a detailed plan and decided to submit a detailed proposal soon.

First of all, Baedal Minjok, who offered a differential fee, continued to make remarks conscious of Coupang Eats again this time.

[Ham Yoon-sik / Baemin, Vice President, Woowa Brothers: We look forward to further discussing how to resolve platform-led excessive commission marketing, which is the cause of today's 9.8% commission]

The companies have nailed that they cannot accept more than 5% of the commission rate.

[Kim Jin-woo / Co-Chairperson of the Affiliate Owners' Council: The commission should be at least 5% so that small business owners can breathe a little. It is also necessary to immediately stop the act of demanding Choi Hye treatment, advertising it as a free delivery, and passing it on to the store.]

[Kim Dae-kwon / Vice President of the Korea Food Service Industry Association: The minimum demand for small business owners is 5% brokerage fee and details of receipt. ]

Public interest committee members continued their attempts to mediate, but they failed to reach an agreement again this time.

[Lee Jung-hee / Delivery platform - Chairman of the Win-Win Consultative Body (Public Interest Committee, professor at Chung-Ang University): We will compare the final win-win plan between Baemin and Coupang, and we will discuss the differences between the parts that the store is asking for and the 11th round]
Chairman
said that if there is no agreement at the next meeting to be held on the 7th, the discussion will be concluded and an arbitration proposal will be made.
