POSCO has also been selected as the 'world's most competitive steelmaker' this year.
It has been No. 1 since 2010, and is No. 1 for 15 consecutive years this year.
POSCO said that World Steel Dynamics, a steel analysis agency, has been selected as the world's most competitive steelmaker in a global steelmaker evaluation released on the 22nd.
This year, POSCO won the top score in five categories: technological innovation, processing costs, skilled labor, mergers and acquisitions, joint investment, and rear and non-steel industries, receiving a total score of 8.62 out of 10.
Founded in 1999, World Steel Dynamics has been evaluating 23 items including technological innovation, production scale, and financial soundness for 35 steelmakers worldwide since 2002 to announce their competitiveness rankings.
Nucor of the United States came in second, followed by Japan's Nippon Steel, multinational company ArcelorMittal and China's Baow Steel.
