The medical sector's research performance has plummeted this year due to the medical vacuum caused by the resignation of the major group.
According to Kang Sun-woo of the Democratic Party of Korea, the number of papers submitted to this year's Autumn Conference of the Korean Academy of Internal Medicine was 101, 86.4% less than last year.
The number of papers submitted by the Korean Neurology Association also decreased by half, the Gynecology Association decreased by 45%, and the Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgery Association also decreased by 20%.
The medical community argued that the function of education and research disappeared as medical professors took charge of medical treatment after the resignation of the medical doctor, and that the development of medical technology such as surgery will inevitably slow down if this continues.
