The number of runaway people who appear every national holiday without fail, although it is less than before, is still appearing in many parts of the country.

Police launched an investigation early today (9th) in Cheonan, South Chungcheong Province, where runaway people drove recklessly threatening the safety of citizens.

Reporter Lim Ye-jin reports on overnight incidents and accidents.

At dark dawn, motorbikes with colorful lights swirling around the intersection with blaring horns.

Not only did the motorcycle group ignore the signal in droves, but as they crossed the center line here and there, the road quickly became chaotic.

This is a group of runaway people who ran wild in the middle of the city at 2:50 a.m. today (9th) in Buldang-dong, Cheonan-si, Chungcheongnam-do.

[Informer: I woke up because of that sound, but I woke up because I heard a loud roar. Looking at the window, several motorcycles were walking around, turning on music and violating traffic signals at the intersection.]

Earlier, in Cheonan, runaway people appeared on national holidays such as Memorial Day and Liberation Day, but they appeared without fail today on Hangeul Day.

Of the 789 cases of violent driving nationwide caught in the August 15 Independence Day special crackdown this year, 150 cases were caught in Cheonan and Asan, South Chungcheong Province alone.

Based on CCTV, the police are following the path of the group of runaway people on Hangeul Day.

At around 11 a.m. yesterday at a construction site in Sunchang, Jeollabuk-do, a man in his 60s whose wrist was amputated due to an excavator rollover accident was unable to find a hospital to operate, so he went around the so-called "emergency room hit and run" for 9 hours and 30 minutes.

The man was eventually taken by fire helicopter to Ajou University Hospital in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, 270 kilometers away after passing through hospitals in Gwangju and Jeonju.

At around 1 a.m. today in Daejeon, a man in his 20s was hit by a car and taken to a hospital in cardiac arrest.

Police are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident, believing that a man was involved in a crossing at a red light based on vehicle black boxes and road CCTVs.
