A former university professor, who was put on trial for sexually harassing a student at a meal, was sentenced to prison in the first trial and arrested in court.
The Suwon District Court sentenced a former university professor A, who was accused of violating the Sexual Violence Punishment Act, to one year in prison, completed a 40-hour sexual violence treatment program, and ordered a three-year restriction on employment at institutions related to children, adolescents, and the disabled.
The court judged that a prison sentence was inevitable, such as A using his position to commit crimes.
Mr. A is accused of molesting his student at a dinner in December last year and following him when the victim tried to leave his seat.
