The details of the statement of the incumbent police officer who was rescued after attempting to set himself on fire in the vehicle due to bullying by his immediate supervisor were released at the National Audit Office.

Rep. Kim Sung-hoe of the Democratic Party of Korea disclosed the damage statement confirmed to the family of superintendent A of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency during the National Assembly's administrative inspection of the National Police Agency today (11th).

The police officer A was rescued with full-body burns after setting fire to a car on the 22nd of last month, and Kim said he cited bullying at work as the reason for trying to set himself on fire after recently returning to consciousness.

He was told by his immediate supervisor B that he wanted to leave the department without any reason, and he was repeatedly bullied for not liking the report.

In response, National Police Agency Commissioner Jo Ji-ho explained that the National Police Agency is checking the facts, and that the investigation into the burned police officer A is not smooth, so we are checking the people around him.

However, when asked if he would remove the alleged perpetrator from his position, he added that fact-checking is a priority as the facts have not been confirmed.
