Teenagers who assaulted a security guard in his 60s, fainted, filmed it on video and distributed it online were sentenced to prison.

Today (16th), Judge Sung Jae-min of the Uijeongbu District Court sentenced defendant A (16) of injury and defendant B (15) of defamation under the Information and Communication Network Act to a long term of one year and a short term of June, respectively.

The court said, "A has a bad crime, such as knocking over the victim and hitting him in the face with his feet," adding, "The crime is recognized for defamation because the victim's family and acquaintances who watched the video distributed by B called to say hello."

He added, "The defendants were sentenced in consideration of the fact that they were boys, the fact that they had no crimes of the same kind, and the degree and circumstances of the victim's injuries." No court arrest was made to give the victim a chance to settle.

Earlier on January 12 at around midnight, A was charged with tripping over a security guard C, who admonished him not to make a fuss at a commercial building in Dasan-dong, Namyangju, and hitting him in the face with his feet, causing three weeks of injuries to his face, and B was charged with filming it and posting it on social media.

A video filmed by B also shows C lying on the floor and fainting for about 3 seconds after being kicked. At that time, the video spread on the Internet, causing outrage.

Prosecutors judged that their crimes were not light and were socially acceptable and handed them over to a formal trial, and demanded a long two-year prison term and a short one-year term at the final trial on August 30.
