The police recently decided not to send Kim Joon-hyuk of the Democratic Party of Korea, who was sued and accused of saying that a student at Ewha Womans University paid sexual favors to the U.S. military.
The Suwon Nambu Police Station issued a no-charge disposition, saying it is difficult to say that lawmaker Kim intended to slander a specific person.
He also explained that the statute of limitations has passed regarding former President Park Chung-hee's accusation of defamation for saying that he may have had sex with a Japanese Military Sexual Slavery in 2019.
Earlier, Rep. Kim appeared on a YouTube channel in 2022 and said that Kim Hwal-ran, the first president of Ewha Womans University, made college students pay their honor to U.S. military officers, which became controversial after it was revealed during the last general election.
