In the future, the vacation period for women with miscarriages or stillbirths will be increased from 5 days to 10 days.
The Low Fertility and Aging Society Committee held the 5th Population Emergency Response Meeting today and announced supplementary measures to support pregnant and childbirth households and to balance work and family.
First of all, the vacation for miscarriages and stillbirths will be extended to 10 days within 11 weeks, which is classified as early pregnancy, reflecting the opinion that female workers who have suffered miscarriages and stillbirths cannot fully recover with the existing 5 days.
In addition, the government will provide support to create three new days of miscarriage and stillbirth paid leave for spouses and ease the burden of salaries.
In the case of infertile couples, if infertility procedures are suspended due to failure to collect eggs, they will have to return the treatment subsidies paid by local governments, but in the future, local government subsidies will not be collected, just like health insurance benefits.
For pregnant women who commute by wide-area buses, consideration will be provided, and the parking lot law will be revised to create a dedicated parking area to relieve parking inconvenience for families and pregnant women with infants.
If two or more local governments cooperate to establish postpartum care centers to increase public postpartum care centers in areas where postpartum care centers are scarce, they will be able to utilize the local extinction response fund.
At the same time, excellent small and medium-sized companies that have made efforts for work-family balance have decided to suspend their regular tax audits for two years starting next year.
