In Hanam-si, Gyeonggi-do, drunk driving has been confirmed in connection with an accident in which a car hit a street tree and killed three classmates.
The Gyeonggi Southern Provincial Police Agency said the blood collection of a driver in his 20s who died in an accident in Deokpung-dong, Hanam-si, Gyeonggi-do, in the early morning of the 5th showed that his blood alcohol level was at the level of license suspension.
In a police investigation, it was confirmed that three people, including A and two passengers, got into the car after drinking at a bar about 3km away from the accident site until about 3:30 a.m. on the day of the accident.
Police suspect that the accident occurred while A was driving at 160km/h while he/she found an enforcement camera installed near the entrance of the underground roadway and changed lanes.
Earlier, at around 4:10 a.m. on the 5th, a car driving on the road in Deokpung-dong, Hanam-si, Gyeonggi-do, hit the sidewalk boundary stone and street trees, killing three people inside, and the other two were taken to the hospital.
