The Seoul Metropolitan Government's education budget for next year was set at 10.81 trillion won, down 3.1% from this year's main budget and 350.3 billion won, and submitted to the Seoul Metropolitan Council.

The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education said it has focused its budget on guaranteeing basic academic ability for students, preventing school violence, and strengthening the care system, instead of organizing events due to a series of tax deficits.

For the smooth introduction of artificial intelligence digital textbooks, which will be fully introduced next year, it will invest 25.6 billion won, 147.2 billion won in smart device purchases, and 9.7 billion won in installing charging boxes.

It has set aside 24.2 billion won for the operation of customized programs for the school every spring, 10.8 billion won for the construction of the environment every spring, and 48.9 billion won for the operation of care classes and snacks.

It also set up a budget to strengthen legal support to cope with school violence and infringement of school rights, such as deepfake crimes.
