Last year, the group Newzins performed on the SBS 'Inkigayo' stage, taking pictures of each other with Apple's latest iPhone model, and the 'Inkigayo', which sent out the performance without knowing that the iPhone commercial video continued immediately after the broadcast, received a legal sanction from the Korea Communications Standards Commission.
On the 4th, the Korea Communications Standards Commission held its 30th plenary meeting and voted to issue a caution against "SBS Popular Song," which aired Newzins' iPhone performance on July 30.
The Korea Communications Standards Commission pointed out, "It seems that the producer in charge knew that iPhone advertisements would be released as soon as the program was over, but it is not understandable that he did not think of linking the two (the contents of the broadcast and the advertisement)."
SBS said, "The use of the music video concept is a common directing method, so the production team accepted it without recognizing any problems and paid great attention to covering the exposure of mobile phones," adding, "We apologize once again for the misunderstanding that viewers have made, and we will use it as an opportunity for internal control."
He also added that the producer who directed the program was replaced after the video was aired.
