At around 9:30 a.m. today (19th), a fire broke out at an electronics manufacturing plant on the first basement floor and four floors above ground in Wonwon-dong, Yeongtong-gu, Suwon.
Upon receiving a report from an official that a fire broke out in the Saengsan-dong on the third floor of the factory, the fire authorities once issued the first stage of response that mobilized both the personnel and equipment of the competent fire station and extinguished the fire.
About three hours after the fire, a big fire was put out.
So far, all 70 workers have been evacuated and no one has been injured, but reports have flooded the fire authorities as black smoke has soared.
The fire department explained that 3 out of 30 condenser manufacturing machines were on fire, and that dangerous substances such as petroleum and alcohol were stored in outdoor storage outside the factory.
Suwon City sent a safety notice, asking vehicles to detour roads in the area, and nearby citizens to pay attention to safety.
