A middle school fencing coach who used abusive language and violence by training students and hitting them with fencing knives was fined in the first and second trials.

The Gwangju District Court's 1-2 Criminal Department (appeal department, judge Yeon Seon-ju) announced on the 26th that it rejected the prosecutor's appeal and maintained the original trial at the appeal trial of A, who was charged with violating the Special Act on the Punishment of Child Abuse Crimes (increased punishment of child abuse by child welfare facility workers, etc.).

Earlier, A was accused of committing abusive crimes by coaching 12 female athletes and assaulting them 19 times as a fencing coach at a middle school in Jeollanam-do in 2022.

Mr. A reportedly wielded, beat, and swore a fencing knife during the training process for the National Youth Sports Festival, such as "Why do you only do one defensive movement?" and "The movement is too slow."

He also threw pork belly on the grill during a dinner party, causing a student to burn, or disparaging the players with discriminatory words and actions compared to the disabled players.
