The Supreme Court has confirmed that if you lend your office without knowing the candidate who is running for election, you cannot be punished for violating the Political Fund Act.

On October 31, the Supreme Court upheld the original ruling that acquitted Oh, who was accused of violating the Political Fund Act.

Oh was sentenced to a fine of 900,000 won in the first trial for illegally donating more than 14 million won, including rent and management expenses, for the re-election campaign of Lee Heung-soo, then head of Dong-gu, Incheon, around 2017, and was acquitted in the second trial.

The second trial court explained the reason for his innocence, saying that if the former head of the district office had not been aware of the rental of the office, Oh could not admit that he gave illegal political funds to the former head of the district office.

The court acquitted the former head of the district office Lee in the first and second trials, saying there was a lack of circumstances in which he knew or was involved in renting the office.
