The Ministry of Health and Welfare held a 2024 Self-Support Project Fair at COEX Magok in Seoul this afternoon (3rd) with the Korea Self-Support Welfare Development Institute and the Korea Regional Self-Support Center Association.
The Ministry of Health and Welfare awarded commendations to local governments and individuals who excelled in self-support projects at this fair, and also held an award ceremony for the handwriting contest of participants who succeeded in self-sufficiency.
In addition, more than 70 booths, including self-supporting companies, were opened to promote self-supporting products or services.
The self-support project, which means living on one's own, began in earnest in 2000 when the National Basic Living Security Act came into force, and aims to support low-income people with working ability to work as members of society.
