Kim Yong-seo, chairman of the Teachers' Union Federation, who has overcome the impeachment crisis, has decided to resign in a day.
Chairman Kim said in his resignation statement today (3rd) that the impeachment was rejected, but he decided to resign after receiving the opinions of many members who trusted and supported the teachers' union.
Earlier, 11 out of 25 unions affiliated with the Federation of Teachers' Union filed an impeachment motion, claiming that Chairman Kim interfered in the election of the chairman of the affiliated union and urged the resignation of the chairman of the elementary school teachers' union.
However, the vote in favor of the impeachment motion was rejected at an extraordinary parliamentary session held yesterday because more than two-thirds of the voters did not vote.
Chairman Kim said he would resign before the end of his term after completing his assigned duties until this morning, but he seems to have decided to resign after internal criticism did not subside.
