Involved in a dead young man, the Villa King...12 Billion Cheonsei Fraud Daily 2 Sentence Reduction

2024.12.16 PM 06:09
Five accomplices charged with 12 billion won worth of lease fraud were all commuted in the second trial in connection with the so-called "Young Villa King" who died two years ago in Incheon without returning lease deposits to tenants.

The Incheon District Court overturned the original ruling that sentenced A, a man in his 20s, to 12 years in prison and sentenced him to 9 years in prison.

It also reversed the original ruling, which sentenced four real estate agents charged with the same charges to seven to nine years in prison, and sentenced them to three to five years in prison.

The appeals court said they committed serious crimes, such as stealing a lease deposit, which could be all the property of the victims, but decided that it was difficult to regard them as committing the crime with definite intention.

Mr. A and others were put on trial for three years from 2020 on charges of stealing 12 billion won in deposit money from 80 tenants in Incheon through capital-free gap investment.

B, a so-called "youth villa king" woman in her 20s who was under investigation for such charges, was found dead two years ago when the controversy over charter fraud arose.
