Officials from civic groups suspected of leaking data related to former first police chief Kim Soon-ho's "confidential suspicions" have been handed over to the prosecution.

The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's public crime investigation team said it sent Lee Jae-beom, the former auditor of the investigation committee, to the prosecution on charges of violating the Personal Information Protection Act.

Park, an investigator of the May 18 Democratic Movement's fact-finding committee who handed over data on the existence of former director Kim's Defense Security Command to former secretary Lee, was also handed over to the prosecution on charges of leaking official secrets.

Earlier, a media company received and reported a security command document from former secretary Lee that said Kim Soon-ho, the former director of political stability, reported on trends in the school's circles when he was a college student.

Later, former Governor Kim filed a complaint with the police, asking them to investigate the person who leaked the data.
