Prosecutors have asked for a life sentence for the Taekwondo director, who was put on trial for putting a 4-year-old boy upside down on a mat and killing him at the Taekwondo studio.
Today (19th) at the Uijeongbu District Court, the prosecution asked for a life sentence and a 10-year restriction on employment at child-related institutions.
The prosecution said that the willful negligence of the murder was fully recognized, and that A returned to the taekwondo center to delete the CCTV footage at the time and even tried to conceal the evidence, adding that a heavy sentence is inevitable.
In response, A's lawyer admitted the abuse but insisted that there was no motive for the murder, and A also bowed to the bereaved family and appealed for leniency in his closing argument, saying he was sorry.
Earlier in July, A was put on trial for putting a 4-year-old boy upside down on a rolled mat and leaving him for 27 minutes at a taekwondo center in Yangju, Gyeonggi Province.
