Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said he wants to discuss the war situation with U.S. President-elect Donald Trump and expects him to help end the war.
President Zelenskyy held a press conference after attending the EU summit in Brussels on the 19th local time, saying it is important for Trump to be on Ukraine's side.
He also criticized Russian President Vladimir Putin for being out of his mind, saying he is a danger to everyone.
President Zelensky called for unity and coordination among European countries to achieve this, saying that Russia must be pressured to achieve a true and sustainable peace.
At the same time, he stressed that the role of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and NATO is important and that the United States should be involved, saying it is impossible to discuss Ukraine's security guarantees only with European countries.
Even before the start of the EU summit, President Zelensky said that it would be difficult to support Ukraine alone in Europe, saying that only when the U.S. and the EU are united, Putin can be stopped and Ukraine saved.
