Overseas Koreans' Office presents a briefing session to support the settlement and stabilization of living in Sakhalinseo, "Korean returning to England."

The Overseas Koreans' Office held a briefing session at the Korean Cultural Center in Sakhalin, Yuzno Sakhalin, Russia on the 18th to guide Sakhalin Koreans to return to permanent residence and settlement support.

Sakhalin Koreans and their companions selected for permanent return will receive support for fares and initial settlement costs required to return home, operating expenses for residential and living facilities, and rental housing under the relevant laws.

The briefing session was divided into morning and afternoon, and more than 120 Koreans who were selected for permanent return this year and who are about to enter their homeland participated in the morning briefing session, and 130 Koreans who wish to return home next year in the afternoon.

A compatriot who is about to return to permanent residence said he was grateful to be able to hear detailed explanations of nationality acquisition and entry procedures directly from officials of each institution, and said he would settle down well in his home country.

Lee Sang-deok, head of the Overseas Koreans Agency, said, "The Korean Residents' Office will do its best to ensure the stable settlement of the permanent residents for Sakhalin Koreans who have yet to return to their homeland."

The Overseas Koreans' Office has been steadily carrying out the 'Project to Support the Return, Settlement, and Living Stability of Sakhalin Koreans' permanent residence and settlement in Korea for our compatriots and their companions who moved to Sakhalin due to forced mobilization of Japanese colonial era.
