Spanish PM "Invasion of a Third Country in Lebanon"...Criticism of Israel's Attacks

Spain's Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has called for an international response, describing Israel's attack on Lebanon as an "invasion."

"There has been an invasion of Lebanon by a third country, a sovereign country, and that is why the international community cannot be indifferent," Sanchez said in a speech to parliament, according to AFP.

Mr. Sanchez also insisted on responding to what is happening in Lebanon, as the international community has condemned Russia's invasion of Ukraine or Israel's attack on Gaza.

This means that the international community, like Russia, should impose sanctions and pressure as Israel has "invaded" Lebanon.

Sanchez also expressed regret over the lack of agreement within the European Union regarding the situation in the Middle East, saying, "We must be consistent in defending international law and international humanitarian law."

Sanchez, a Socialist, is one of the most intense European leaders who has criticized Israel's attack on Gaza.

The Spanish government, along with Ireland and Norway, recognized Palestine as an official state in May, causing friction with Israel.
