A U.N. panel of investigators has criticized Israel's deliberate attack on medical facilities in Gaza, saying it is a war crime.

"Israel has implemented a consistent policy of destroying Gaza's healthcare system," the U.N. investigator said in a statement on the 10th local time. "It should be seen that they have constantly and deliberately attacked medical staff and medical facilities."

The investigation committee strongly criticized, saying, "Attacking medical personnel's vehicles, intentionally killing medical personnel, and restricting movement to prevent patients from leaving Gaza are war crimes and slaughter against humanity."

A case in point was the 162nd Division of the Israeli Army killed Hind Rajab and his family, and even killed paramedics when they shelled a Palestinian Red Crescent ambulance that was dispatched to save them.

The collapse of healthcare in Gaza is an issue that the international community has continuously expressed concern about.

The war not only limited medical services, but also destroyed and dysfunctional many hospitals, and frequently killed or detained medical staff.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), more than 10,000 patients in need of urgent overseas medical evacuations have not been evacuated since a checkpoint in Rafa, Gaza's southernmost border gateway, was closed in May.

The death toll of medical personnel, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, has reached more than 1,000 since the outbreak of the war in October last year.

Regarding the treatment of Palestinian prisoners detained in Israel and hostages taken by Hamas, the investigation committee said, "Both Israel and Hamas have committed torture, physical violence, and sexual violence against prisoners and hostages."

Israel has not yet responded to the statement.

But Israel has repeatedly expressed opposition to U.N. agencies, saying they distort the facts with biased investigations when they talk about war crimes in Gaza.

Israel has also described attacks targeting hospitals as precision strikes at Hamas' command headquarters and hideouts.
