Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Mariya Zakharova said on Telegram on the 15th, referring to the U.S. State Department's call for North Korea to stop escalating the threat of conflict on the Korean Peninsula.

Zakharova wrote, "The traditional American trick: provocations that make things worse, and the act of attributing all the blame to those who are forced to act independently of their will."

"The United States is the only country that increases the risk of conflict on the Korean Peninsula and the entire Asia-Pacific region. They are anxious to see a disturbance there," he stressed.

In addition, the governments of South Korea and Japan, which are "important points of security in the region," are under pressure from the U.S. and there is no political will to shake off the U.S. bondage.

Zakharova also referred to the drone incident the day before, claiming that it was "a violation of sovereignty and interference in internal affairs" against North Korea.
