A residential building in Kenya's capital, Nairobi, collapsed, injuring one person.
Officials in Nairobi said an eight-story building in the densely populated Kaha West collapsed on Tuesday local time.
The building was scheduled to be demolished, and there were no major casualties due to the evacuation order three days ago, but a woman passing by was injured by shrapnel.
In Kenya, the recent rise in demand for housing has led to a series of accidents as real estate developers defy building regulations and move up buildings.
In September 2022, a six-story building collapsed in a town outside Nairobi, killing five people.
