U.S. consumer spending prices 2.1% in September ↑...in line with the forecast

The U.S. Department of Commerce said its personal consumption expenditure, PCE price index rose 2.1% in September from the same month last year.

Compared to August, the survey showed a 0.2% increase.

The gains from a year ago and a month ago were both in line with expert forecasts compiled by Dow Jones.

Excluding energy and food, the core PCE price index rose 2.7% from the same month last year and 0.3% from last month.

The core index's growth rate from the same month last year was slightly above the forecast of 2.6%, and the growth rate from last month was in line with the forecast.
