A month later, at the Nobel Prize ceremony in Stockholm, Sweden, the first Korean novelist to receive the Nobel Prize in Literature is expected to be called Han Kang in Korean.

Park Ok-kyung, a Swedish translator of Han Kang's work, was asked to translate the final sentence of the award-winning introductory speech into Korean, Yonhap reported.

At the Nobel Prize ceremony, it is customary to speak the final sentence in the winner's native language.

Writer Han Kang will also give an official lecture on the winners in Korean, which will be held separately from the awards ceremony.
