More than 30 people were killed or injured when Israeli forces launched airstrikes targeting the Palestinian militant group Islamic Jihad in Syria.
According to Syria's state-run SANA news agency, on the afternoon of the 14th, Israeli forces bombed the Maje and Qudsaya areas outside the Syrian capital Damascus, killing 15 people and injuring 16.
The Israeli military confirmed the airstrike in a statement, saying it had "attacked the Islamic Jihad terror facilities and command centers in Syria."
"Islamic Jihad participated in Hamas' murderous attack on Israel on October 7 last year under the direction of leaders outside Gaza," he said.
Israeli forces have been increasing the frequency of airstrikes in Syria, including Damascus and Qusair, this month.
On the 3rd, special forces were deployed to Syrian territory to capture Iranian-linked intelligence agents.
