Jeon Hyun-hee, a member of the Supreme Council of the Democratic Party of Korea, said Lee Jae-myung is completely innocent and claimed that the trial was forced to prosecute by fabricating crimes without the prosecution.
After explaining the facts and legal principles surrounding Lee's case of the Public Official Election Act at the Supreme Council, the former Supreme Council member said, "Memories, thoughts and opinions are not subject to punishment."
Supreme Council member Lee Eon-joo also denied the question of whether President Yoon Suk Yeol knew Kim Man-bae during the last presidential election, saying the prosecution did not indict him as an evaluation or expression of opinion, pointing out that it is a double standard.
He said he was riding on power, becoming a political prosecutor, and losing his value of existence, and asked not to forget the "Prosecutor's Office Act" because his responsibility to maintain political neutrality and not abuse his authority is engraved in it.
