Israeli Rabbi Zvi Kogan has arrested three suspects in connection with the discovery of his body after he went missing in the United Arab Emirates, the UAE's interior ministry announced.
However, the UAE Ministry of Interior did not disclose the nationality of the criminals.
"The details of the incident will be released when the investigation is completed," the UAE's interior ministry said, stressing that "the UAE is committed to protecting the safety of its citizens and travelers."
Earlier, Israeli media reported that three operatives from Uzbekistan were suspected of fleeing to Turkiye after killing Kogan, who was visiting a grocery store.
Israel's prime minister's office and the foreign ministry said in a joint statement that they had found Kogan's body and that "the murder was a criminal anti-Semitic terrorist attack."
"Israel will bring to justice those who killed him by any means," he said.
Kogan, a member of the ultra-Orthodox Jewish faction "Kabad Lubavich" and a dual Israeli and Moldovan citizen who has served in the UAE, went missing and was found dead on the afternoon of the 21st.
Some in Israel have raised the possibility that Iran has been monitoring Kogan's activities.
