A shooting at a bar in southeastern Mexico...At least six people died.

At least six people were killed and 10 injured in a shooting at a bar in the southeastern Mexican city of Villarermosa.

On the 24th local time, gunmen stormed the bar to find a specific person and shot ruthlessly at people around them.

Five of the dead died at the scene, while another was taken to hospital but eventually died.

Villarermosa is the capital of Tabasco state, and crime has been on the rise in recent months in the region where oil production facilities are concentrated, local media said.

According to Mexican government statistics, there have been 715 homicides in Tabasco alone so far this year.

This is far more than double the total number of homicides (253) last year.
