The U.S. special prosecutor has asked the court to dismiss two federal cases against Trump.

With about two months to go before his inauguration, Trump has cleared all judicial risks.

The Capitol riot that was caused by supporters four years ago when Trump defied the presidential election defeat and claimed election fraud.

In August last year, Special Counsel Jack Smith decided to indict Trump, saying he was behind the case.

Three weeks into the presidential election, which ended with a landslide victory for Trump, Special Counsel Smith submitted a request to the court to dismiss the "reversal of presidential election results" and the "confidential leak."

Under the constitution that a sitting president cannot be subject to prosecution, he requested that the trial of both cases be suspended until the end of Trump's term.

Trump called it a major victory for the rule of law.

With Trump's presidential victory, the case was dismissed as a scheduled step, but it was earlier than expected given the deadline early next month.

U.S. media observed that Smith was in the process of voluntarily resigning early after rushing to submit the final independent counsel report.

In the midst of this, Damien Williams, the chief prosecutor of the Southern District Prosecutors' Office in New York, called the "Wall Street Grim Reaper," announced in advance that he would resign on the 13th of next month.

Trump nominated Jay Clayton, his golf friend and first-term executive Securities and Exchange Commission chairman, for the position.
