In the future, 'major universities', a lifelong education facility, will also be able to provide industrial consignment education.
The Ministry of Education announced at the Cabinet meeting today (26th) that the Enforcement Decree of the Act on Promotion of Industrial Education and Promotion of Industry-Academic Cooperation and the Enforcement Decree of the Lifelong Education Act were deliberated and approved.
A major university is not classified under the Higher Education Act, but under the Lifelong Education Act, it is an institution that has the same academic background and degree as a junior college.
Under the revised enforcement decree, major universities can also be commissioned by industry to train, and contract departments and school companies can be set up to train manpower by signing contracts with companies and opening specific majors required by companies.
