The legislation of the AI Basic Law to support the sound development of the artificial intelligence industry and the abolition of the Terminal Distribution Act, which eliminates the mobile phone disclosure subsidy system, have crossed the threshold of the National Assembly Standing Committee.
The core of the bill to enact the Basic Artificial Intelligence Act, which passed the plenary session of the National Assembly's Science, Technology, Information, Broadcasting and Communication Committee, is to have the government establish a basic plan that includes the policy direction of the AI industry every three years.
It also includes ethical norms, such as requiring Generative AI service providers to clearly inform them that they have used AI using watermarks.
The abolition of the Terminal Distribution Act is to eliminate the disclosure subsidy system for mobile communication terminals and the upper limit of additional subsidies, and it also includes a clause prohibiting discriminatory payment of subsidies based on the user's residence or age.
The bills that passed the over-defense will be submitted to the plenary session as early as the 28th after passing through the Legislative and Judiciary Committee.
