Violence During Guinean Football Match... "Dozens Dead"

Dozens of people have been killed after clashes broke out between spectators watching a soccer match in Guinea, Africa, AFP reported.

Large-scale violence broke out during a soccer game in Nzerecore, Guinea's second city, on the 1st local time.

A local medical agency official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told AFP the death toll was around 100, while another official said dozens had been killed.

The witness also testified, "It all started with a controversial refereeing decision," adding, "Since then, fans have stormed the stadium."

Local media said the match was meant to commemorate the leader of the Guinea junta, Mamadi Dumbuya.
