A plane departing from Azerbaijan to Russia crashed in Kazakhstan.
Local media reported that an Azerbaijani airliner crashed near the city of Aktau in western Kazakhstan.
A video of the plane crashing at a high speed hit the floor and burst into flames has been posted on social media.
Azerbaijan Airlines says the plane made an emergency landing at Aktau airport after colliding with a flock of birds.
Kazakh authorities say 67 passengers and crew members were on board at the time of the accident, 42 of whom are believed to have died.
The survivors were taken to the hospital.
More than 50 rescuers were dispatched to the scene of the accident to extinguish the fire.
