4 more museums established in Sejong City...National Museum in Paju

The government has decided to build four more museums in Sejong City's National Museum Complex by 2028 and a national museum storage facility complex in Paju City.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced the "3rd Basic Plan for Promotion of Museums and Art galleries."

According to the government's basic plan, Sejong City will first create an additional urban architecture museum, design museum, digital cultural heritage center, and national record museum inside the National Museum Complex.

In addition, it was decided to build a national museum head facility for systematic and efficient cultural heritage management in Paju-si, Gyeonggi-do.

In addition, the government decided to distribute local national museums and art museum branches by region and establish them in the form of corporations to enhance their operational expertise to prevent cultural facilities from concentrating in the metropolitan area.
