Shin Sang-woo, former coach of WK League Changnyeong WFC, has been appointed as the head coach of the women's national soccer team, which had been vacant for more than three months due to the end of Colin Bell's contract.

The Korea Football Association said head coach Shin Sang-woo will take the helm until the 2028 Olympics in LA, USA, and will receive interim evaluation through the 2027 Women's World Cup.

Shin, who started as a coach for Gimhae City Hall after playing in Daejeon Citizen and Seongnam Ilhwa, led the team as coach Boeun Sangmu, Icheon Bridge, and Changnyeong WFC.

In August, the newly established Korea Football Association's Power Reinforcement Committee reviewed 30 candidates through three meetings and finally selected Shin Sang-woo through in-depth interviews with five final candidates.

Coach Shin's A match debut is a friendly match against Japan on the 26th, and the list will be announced on the 14th.
