Kenya's Ruth Chaffengeti broke the 2 hours and 10 minutes wall in the women's marathon, setting a new world record.
The Chaffengeti crossed the finish line in 2:09:56 at the Chicago Marathon in the U.S., advancing the previous world record by 1:57.
In the women's marathon, the 2 hours and 10 minutes wall was broken in 23 years after Japan's Takahashi broke the 2 hours and 20 minutes wall for the first time in 2001.
